Where to Buy Trench Crusade Models: Official Ranges and 3D-Printed Options UK

If you're trying to work out where to buy Trench Crusade models in the UK, the picture has changed considerably in the past year. Official physical ranges now exist from multiple manufacturers, there's a solid scene of compatible 3D-printed miniatures, and we stock a good chunk of the print-on-demand side right here at TabletopXtra.

Quick context for anyone new to the game: Trench Crusade is a grimdark fantasy skirmish game set in an alternate Great War, where the forces of Hell and Heaven fight through proxy armies in the trenches. The core rules are free to download, which is part of why the player base has grown quickly. The friction most new players run into is working out where to actually source the models.

Does Trench Crusade have official models?

Yes. Wargames Atlantic produces official plastic Missionaries for Trench Crusade (pack code WAATW001), stocked through a number of UK hobby retailers and directly via Wargames Atlantic's own site. Asmodee distributes several official warband sets in metal and resin, including the Prussian Yeomen, Stosstruppen, Trench Pilgrims Warband and New Antioch Warband.

The Carcass Front campaign box, which landed in August 2026, is a reasonable entry point if you want to pick up several factions at once. Designer Tuomas Pirinen has also hinted at further plastic kit announcements, so the official range is still developing.

That said, much of the Trench Crusade community plays with compatible 3D-printed miniatures, particularly for factions that don't have a complete official range yet. Trench Crusade accommodates this well, and some of the strongest sculpts for individual factions come from the print-on-demand space rather than the official kits.

3D-printed Trench Crusade miniatures: what we stock at TabletopXtra

We carry two designers whose ranges are built specifically with Trench Crusade compatibility in mind. Between them, you can put together a full matched-play force across several factions without sourcing from multiple suppliers.

Bite the Bullet (Ashen Armies)

The Ashen Armies range from Bite the Bullet covers four main factions: the Gilded Dominion, the Hellbound Apostasy, the Bleeding Procession and the Profane Sacrament. It's the range with the most depth if you're building from scratch. Individual pieces run from £6.49 for smaller units up to £19.99 for full warband characters, and the range is available in 28mm, 32mm, 35mm and 40mm.

A few pieces worth looking at specifically: the Gilded Dominion Azebs (£19.99), the Hellbound Apostasy Heretic Troopers (£9.99), the Ordnance Witch (£6.99) and the Lord of Tumours (£16.99). We ran a full breakdown of the range when it first came into store, which is worth reading if you want to see all four factions laid out: New from Bite the Bullet x Ashen Armies.

Crab Miniatures (Doomed Battalions)

Crab Miniatures are a UK-based studio. Their Doomed Battalions range is designed specifically for Trench Crusade, mixing WW1 infantry silhouettes with grimdark fantasy elements in a way that reads well on the table. We covered them in detail in the Doomed Battalions launch post and again in our Crab Miniatures UK designer profile.

We stock two sets: the Wraith Pilgrims (from £5.99, full set £49.99) and the Candles of Heresy (from £5.99, full set £49.99). Both work as core faction infantry, and the full set pricing makes sense if you're planning a complete warband rather than picking up individual pieces.

Is Trench Crusade miniature-agnostic?

Largely yes. The game doesn't require you to use official models, and the community accepts any compatible 28mm or 32mm miniature that fits the visual theme of the faction it represents. You can run a full game using entirely 3D-printed models, entirely official kits or a mix, and it's not going to be an issue in a casual setting.

Where it gets stricter is in organised play. Some tournament organisers set clearer expectations around model representation, so if competitive play is the goal, it's worth checking the specific event's rules before you commit to a warband. For club games and home play, the approach is flexible.

Where to buy Trench Crusade models in the UK

For 3D-printed options, TabletopXtra prints and ships from within the UK. You're getting domestic turnaround times and no import costs, which adds up quickly when you're ordering from smaller designers whose overseas shipping can be expensive.

For official plastic kits, the Wargames Atlantic Missionaries are available through a range of UK hobby retailers as well as directly via Wargames Atlantic's own website.

For official resin and metal warband sets distributed by Asmodee, the main UK independents are Element Games, Firestorm Games and Wayland Games. Availability on specific sets shifts around, so checking across a couple of stockists is worthwhile.

Terrain for Trench Crusade games

Terrain matters more in Trench Crusade than in most skirmish games. The setting is specific: trench lines, No Man's Land, shell craters, barbed wire. Generic fantasy scatter doesn't fit the aesthetic, and the game's scenarios are built around terrain that reflects where these armies are actually fighting.

We stock terrain from Diceverse designed for this kind of board, including the Drowned Front Barricades (£26.99), the Artillery Terrain Kit (£22.99), the Destroyed Trench Tank MK1 (£29.99), the Barricade Kit (£12.99) and Naval Mines (£12.99). For a full breakdown of the Diceverse terrain range, see our Diceverse WW1-Horror Terrain post.

Frequently asked questions

Does Trench Crusade have official models?

Yes. Wargames Atlantic makes official plastic Missionaries and Asmodee distributes several official warband sets, including the Prussian Yeomen, Stosstruppen and New Antioch Warband. The Carcass Front campaign box launched in August 2026. The official range is still growing.

What are Trench Crusade miniatures made of?

Official models from Wargames Atlantic are plastic. Asmodee-distributed warband sets come in resin or metal depending on the specific set. The 3D-printed options we stock at TabletopXtra are printed in high-resolution photopolymer resin.

Are Trench Crusade minis good?

The Wargames Atlantic plastic Missionaries are solid entry-level kits. The print-on-demand resin ranges, particularly Ashen Armies from Bite the Bullet, are well-regarded for sculpt quality and detail. Resin at 32mm scale shows considerably more fine detail than standard injection-moulded plastics.

Is Trench Crusade miniature agnostic?

Yes for casual play. The game works with any compatible 28mm or 32mm miniatures that fit the faction's visual theme. Organised play settings may have stricter requirements depending on the event organiser.

What size are Trench Crusade miniatures?

Most Trench Crusade miniatures are 28mm or 32mm. The Ashen Armies range from Bite the Bullet is available in 28mm, 32mm, 35mm and 40mm, depending on the individual set.
