Galaad Arena Fighters Miniatures: Fantasy Gladiators for DnD and TTRPG
Fantasy Gladiators for Your Campaign Table
The Arena Fighters set from Galaad Miniatures is now in stock at TabletopXtra. Twelve figures covering everything from a net-and-trident retiarius to a full war chariot. If you have been trying to run an arena encounter without a fistful of mismatched figures pulled from three different ranges, this is the set that solves it.
Galaad is a French design studio with a loyal following among DnD and TTRPG players. Their monthly releases tend to be carefully thought through: varied character types, clean silhouettes that read well at arm's length, and enough surface detail to reward a careful paint job without punishing a speed-paint. The Arena Fighters set is one of their most thematically focused releases, and it has just arrived here in the UK.
What Is in the Set?
Twelve figures total. You get Swordsman A and Swordsman B (two distinct fighting styles), a heavy fighter called The Wall, a retiarius with net and trident, an archer, two mounted fighters and a full war chariot. Between those twelve, you have enough variety to run a full arena-based session without the same opponent type appearing twice.
The full set of twelve is priced at £42.99 in 28/32mm, £45.99 in 35mm and £49.99 at 40mm. Individual fighters start at £6.49 in 28/32mm, which means you can pick just the retiarius for a one-off encounter, or add a pair of swordsmen to an existing warband without committing to the whole set. Several figures are also available in 54mm and 75mm for anyone who wants a display piece or a longer painting project.

Running an Arena Encounter
Arena encounters, when they land, are the kind of session players mention months later. A corrupt fight-ring beneath the merchant quarter, gladiatorial pits run by a thieves' guild, a devil's arena where warriors battle for their freedom: there is no shortage of ways to frame this kind of encounter, and a solid group of varied fighters makes all of them work better.
The variety in this set is what makes it practical rather than just atmospheric. With twelve figures covering different combat styles, you can pace a whole evening of arena encounters and keep each round feeling distinct. The retiarius tends to get an immediate reaction from players who have never seen that particular fighter type on the table before. And if things are going too smoothly for your party, the war chariot gives you a clean way to raise the stakes.
Beyond dedicated arena play, these figures pull a lot of secondary duty. They work as elite mercenaries, pit fighters for hire, or the armed wing of a criminal organisation that prefers organised combat to assassination. The mounted fighters double as cavalry scouts or tournament knights when you need either. With twelve figures this varied, you will find uses across multiple sessions rather than just the one encounter you bought them for.
About Galaad Miniatures
Galaad Miniatures is run by French sculptor Quentin. His monthly releases are pre-supported for printing and sized for standard RPG use, with a consistent visual style that holds up across different sets. A figure from one month sits naturally alongside one from a different month, which matters when you are building a recurring NPC cast or a complex encounter group from more than one release.
We are commercially licensed to print and sell Galaad's designs. All Arena Fighters figures are printed in grey resin to order, cleaned and cured before dispatch, and supplied unassembled and unpainted. Standard dispatch is five to eight working days, with postal drops twice a week.
Scale and Print Notes
The Arena Fighters are available in 28/32mm, 35mm, 40mm, 54mm and 75mm. The 40mm size works well for the war chariot in particular, which is substantial at standard scale and becomes genuinely imposing at 40mm. The 75mm option suits a display piece or a collector's model.
These figures arrive cleaned and cured, unpainted. The anatomy is clear, the armour and clothing edges are well-defined, and the undercuts are manageable. Galaad's figures take primer and base coats without the fussy prep work that makes some resin models a chore to start.
