D&D Monster Miniatures UK: Dragons, Demons, Giants and Undead
Most dnd miniatures monsters sold in the UK ship from abroad. Print-on-demand services based in the US or mainland Europe add three to six weeks to delivery, along with the uncertainty of import costs. We print our rpg monster miniatures at our workshop in the UK and dispatch within a few days, so what you see below is available to order now.
This post covers the main monster categories we stock: dragons, undead, demons, and large creatures, with prices and designer names throughout.
Dragons
Our dnd dragon miniatures sit in three price tiers, from smaller encounter pieces to full centrepiece models.
The Azgrathok Chaos Dragonlord from Artisan Guild's Draconian Scourge range is the largest. The single-head version is £34.99; the multi-head variant is £39.99. It's a centrepiece model, not a random encounter piece. At 32mm scale, it takes up real table space and is probably the most visually striking dragon sculpt we carry.
The Dragon Wyrm Eldormr the Fire Linnorm comes from Artisan Guild's Skutagaard Northmen Saga II range at £25.99. Wyrm-form dragons have a different silhouette to the standard winged type, which is useful if you want visual variety across encounters rather than dragons that all read the same at the table.
The Thorndrake from RN Estudio's Monster Hunters Vol 2 range (£29.99) is leaner and more predatory in design. It works well as a mid-tier encounter piece without overshadowing the campaign's main villain.
For ongoing campaigns, the Brown Dragon family from Rescale Miniatures is the most practical set we carry. Young (£9.99), Adult (£26.99), and Elder (£28.99) variants let a dragon villain grow across a campaign's arc. A detail that players tend to notice.
Undead
We've covered this category in depth in our dedicated DnD undead miniatures post, which walks through Artisan Guild's Darkness of the Lich Lord range in full.
Short version: the Lich Lord miniature is £18.99. Bodil the Wraith Wright is £6.99 and works well as a lieutenant piece. The Draugr Miniatures set gives you six models for £19.99, which is a reasonable cost per model if you need a horde rather than a named villain.
Demons
Our DnD demon miniatures post covers the Abyss Demons range in detail, including which creature types each model suits and what encounter scenarios they fit. If you're planning anything Abyssal, that's the better starting point than this overview.
Giants and Large Creatures
Demand for dnd miniatures giants is something we're working to meet as we expand the range. Right now, the City Titan from RN Estudio's Classic JRPG Vol 5 range (£32.99) is the largest single-piece model we carry in this category. It's a construct rather than a traditional fantasy giant, closer to a mechanical golem than a hill giant in design, but it works in urban and dungeon settings as a large encounter creature. The sculpt is detailed enough to carry an encounter without conversion work.
For traditional giant types (frost, stone, hill), check back as we expand the range.
Painting Monster Miniatures
Monster models tend to reward a different approach to character pieces. They're often used as solo encounter pieces rather than in units, so the face and focal point details matter more than a uniform finish across the model.
For large dragons, painting the wing membranes separately from the body scales makes the blending stage easier. Washes work well on textured scales and rough skin. A dry-brush highlight on raised surfaces reads clearly at table distance, which is the practical test for a gaming piece.
For undead and demons, a limited colour palette with one accent (glowing eyes, a fire effect, something that draws the eye) tends to read better across a gaming table than a busy multi-colour scheme. The Artisan Guild sculpts have enough surface detail that a single base colour with washes and highlights is often sufficient. Most of the work is in prep and priming.
We also carry a broader range of fantasy monster miniatures from Printed Obsession if you're after variety beyond the specific ranges covered here.
D&D Monster Miniatures: Frequently Asked Questions
Are these miniatures pre-painted?
No. All our miniatures arrive unpainted in resin or PLA, ready to prime and paint. We don't currently offer a painting service.
What scale are your monster miniatures?
Most of our range is designed for 28mm or 32mm scale. Large creatures like the Azgrathok Chaos Dragonlord and the City Titan are scaled to match that base, so they sit considerably larger than standard infantry models. Individual product listings include recommended base sizes.
How long does delivery take?
We print to order. Most orders dispatch within 3 to 5 working days. UK delivery runs via Royal Mail or a tracked courier depending on order size.
Can I request a miniature that's not listed?
Yes. We take custom orders for miniatures from many of the designers we work with. Use the contact form on our site and we'll confirm whether it's something we can produce.
What base size do monster miniatures use?
It varies by model. Standard monster-sized pieces suit 40mm or 50mm round bases. Large and Huge category models typically need 75mm or larger. Where a model includes an integrated base, that's noted on the product listing. Drop us a message before ordering if you're unsure.
