Tamiya Acrylic Paint Mini XF-78 Wooden Deck Tan

Warship decks weren't painted grey all over — most were planked timber, and XF-78 nails the warm, pale tan that timber actually reads as under a wash and a bit of weathering.

Best for

• Planked wooden decks on warship and naval models
• Any build with exposed timber detail that needs a convincing light wood tone

Base coat with this, add a wash for the plank lines, and the deck does half the storytelling on its own.

Genuine Tamiya acrylic, 10ml jar. A bottle of X-20A thinner keeps it smooth for brushing fine plank detail or airbrushing the whole deck.
