The desert war had its own short-lived, very specific palette, and this four-colour set (AK11678) captures it. Light Stone No.61, Dark Olive Green PFI, Desert Pink ZI and S.C.C. No.14 Black cover the camouflage British and Commonwealth vehicles wore in North Africa from autumn 1942 to spring 1943 — including the distinctive pink-tinged disruptive schemes seen in the run-up to El Alamein and beyond.

Best for

  • British and Commonwealth armour, North Africa, late 1942-43
  • Disruptive desert camo — Light Stone base with Dark Olive Green and Desert Pink patches
  • Brush or airbrush work — 3rd Gen acrylics thin cleanly with water

Desert Pink alone is worth the set — it's not a shade you can eyeball from a general sand colour, and getting it right is what makes an El Alamein-era build look properly researched rather than guessed at.

Four colours, one campaign, no mixing. Explore the full AK 3rd Gen acrylics range, or head to weathering supplies for authentic desert dust after painting.
