RLM 79 Sandgelb in its 1941 tone is the desert upper-surface colour of the Luftwaffe tropical scheme — the sandy yellow that camouflaged Bf 109s and Ju 87s against the North African landscape. The uppers to RLM 78's undersides, and the tone that makes a desert bird look the part.
