RLM 78 Hellblau in its 1941 tone is the light blue underside of the Luftwaffe's tropical scheme — the colour beneath the sand-yellow uppers of Bf 109s baking over North Africa and the Mediterranean. Get the undersurfaces right and a desert airframe suddenly reads true.
