Witches & Little Monsters by Galaad Miniatures: Witch Miniatures for D&D and Dark Fantasy

Galaad's Witches & Little Monsters came out in August 2024 and it's still one of the more complete themed sets we stock for dark-fantasy gaming. If you're hunting for witch miniatures for D&D, Pathfinder, or any game running a folkloric horror thread, this range is worth a look: eight 28/32mm presupported resin models split across witch character figures and a set of small chaos creature companions.

The set divides cleanly. You can take the Full Set (all eight models, from £21.99 at 28/32mm), the Witches (2) sub-set for the character figures alone, or the Little Gurgling Boys as a standalone creature pack. The Full Set is also available at 35mm and 40mm if you prefer the larger scale.

The Witch Character Models

The witch sculpts anchor the range. For dungeon masters they cover the broad spread of D&D hag archetypes: the folkloric silhouette works for a Green Hag's naturalistic menace, a Night Hag's more sinister look, or any of the heritage hag types that appear across the published monster books. For players, they fit warlocks, sorcerers, and Pathfinder witch class characters equally well, any caster who operates somewhere outside polite arcane society. At 28/32mm they're in scale with most resin and metal ranges, so they slot in alongside existing collections without looking out of place.

The Witches (2) sub-set is available at £9.99 for 28/32mm, which is a fair entry price if you need just two character figures for a specific encounter. The Full Set is the better buy for dungeon masters building a recurring coven faction or looking to build out a wider encounter roster in one purchase. Presupported resin at this price point is where 3D-printed miniatures make a reasonable case against cast metal ranges, particularly when a sculpt would be difficult to reproduce at this level of surface detail.

Little Gurgling Boys: Chaos Creature Companions

The creature sub-set is a different proposition. Tagged under Chaos and Chaotic Brotherhood in our catalogue, the Little Gurgling Boys have that low-to-the-ground, gibbering-minion look that makes them useful across more scenarios than the name suggests. Use them as a witch's familiars in a coven encounter, as a swarm of low-CR threats before a harder boss, or as ambient chaos creatures in any game running a corruption or horror thread.

At £9.99 for the sub-set they make an easy add-on to any Galaad order. Painting them is quick work: a base colour, a wash, and a drybrush will get them to a solid tabletop standard in a single session. Their texture-heavy surfaces are also a good place to practise blending or drybrushing before taking the technique to a centrepiece model.

Tabletop Uses

The set has obvious autumn-season applications, but it holds up year-round in any campaign where hags, warlocks or arcane-corruption villains make regular appearances. Campaigns centred on Ravenloft or Shadowfell material have roster gaps this fills well. The creature models also translate to Pathfinder, OSR and horror-adjacent games without much adjustment. If you want something crawling out of the scenery that isn't a generic cultist or a humanoid enemy, the Little Gurgling Boys are a practical choice.

Painting the two groups together works well as a project. The witch character figures and the creature models take different approaches: the witch sculpts are more detail-focused, the creature models more textured. Palette decisions on the witches, robes, skin tones, any magical glow effects, can carry directly across to the creature pieces for a unified look without requiring identical techniques throughout. A shared shadow colour across the group is usually enough to pull everything together on the table.
