New from Bite the Bullet: Grove Haven — Woodland Animal Folk Miniatures for D&D
Bite the Bullet's Grove Haven set packs 17 anthropomorphic woodland folk into a single print-on-demand release: hawk rangers, frog wizards, hedgehog bards, raccoon druids and more. We stock the full cast at TabletopXtra in 28/32mm resin, ready to prime and paint. For anyone hunting animal folk miniatures for D&D or fantasy wargaming, this set fills a gap that standard plastic kits rarely touch.
Meet the Denizens of Grove Haven
The 17 characters cover a full spread of class archetypes across several woodland creature factions. From the individual options available to order:
- Hawk Folk Ranger: a bird-folk archer that works well as a Kenku-adjacent ranger or a mobile ranged striker in skirmish games.
- Raccoon Folk Thief and Raccoon Folk Druid: two characters from the raccoon faction, one built for skulduggery, the other for nature magic.
- Frog Folk Monk and Frog Folk Wizard: amphibian adventurers that make strong proxies for Grung characters or any swamp-themed campaign cast.
- Squirrel Folk Sorceress: a quick-moving arcane caster with a silhouette unlike anything in standard plastic ranges.
- Ferret Folk Rogue: lean, low profile, and built for the shadows.
- Hedgehog Folk Bard: a hedgehog with a lute, sculpted with genuine character and arguably the most amusing model in the whole set.
- Rat Folk Hunter and Mouse Folk Cleric: a rodent pair covering damage-dealing and party support, rounding out a small-creature adventuring party.
Seven more models extend the same woodland theme to complete the set of 17. Individual picks are available for every character, or you can take the full cast together.
Animal Folk Miniatures and the Print-on-Demand Advantage
Animal-folk races are consistently popular at RPG and wargaming tables. Grung (frog-folk), Kenku (bird-folk), Harengon (rabbit-folk, introduced in The Wild Beyond the Witchlight), and a range of homebrew beastfolk factions show up in campaigns regularly. The problem has always been finding decent miniatures for them. Mass-plastic manufacturers do not cater to most of these character types, and when they do, a single blister might set you back £15 to £25 for one model.
Print-on-demand changes that. Every Grove Haven character is printed to order from the designer's original files, cleaned and cured before dispatch, and priced so that building a full woodland party is genuinely affordable. At £6.49 per character at 28/32mm, you can kit out a party of six for under £40 before touching the Full Set bundle.
The range also scales across five sizes: 28/32mm, 35mm, 40mm, 54mm and 75mm. The 75mm versions of more characterful sculpts like the Hedgehog Folk Bard or the Raccoon Folk Druid make for strong hobby-challenge centrepieces, well worth the step up from the gaming-table scale.
Pricing and How to Order
The Grove Haven Full Set brings all 17 characters together at £46.99 at 28/32mm or £52.99 at 35mm. Per model, that works out to roughly £2.76 to £3.12. Individual characters start at £6.49 at 28/32mm.
Standard dispatch is 5 to 8 working days. Orders over £15 are tracked. Models arrive in grey resin, unpainted and ready to prime.
Bite the Bullet: Coherent Casts, Monthly
Bite the Bullet is a Spanish design studio run by two people: Elisa sculpts, Daniel handles pre-supports and the community. Their monthly sets are built around thematic coherence, and Grove Haven is a good illustration. Rather than pulling together a random mix of animal characters, the studio gave each creature faction two or more class representations, so you can run a mono-species party (a full Frog Folk coven, say, or a Raccoon Folk rogue-and-druid duo) or mix and match across the whole woodland cast. That design logic makes the set useful rather than merely novel.
Their broader catalogue spans Trench Crusade warbands, classic fantasy races and several character-class deep-cuts. Everything we carry is in the Bite the Bullet collection.
Order Grove Haven
The Full Set of 17 is the best-value route, but individual picks work well too if you need a Frog Folk Wizard for next session's Grung encounter, or a Hedgehog Folk Bard for the player who has been asking for a better mini for three campaigns running. Browse Grove Haven and order here.
