Fantasy Monster Miniatures: Printed Obsession's Random Monster Set

Printed Obsession's Random Monster set puts six fantasy monster miniatures together under one print run: a great wyrm, a towering giant, a mechanical predator, a swamp hag, a frog-folk warlord, and a quick-footed fighter. They share no common theme beyond being creatures your players have probably never fought in the same session before. That variety is the set's whole point. We stock both 28/32mm and 35mm editions, printed in the UK and dispatched from our store.

What's in the Random Monster set?

Six figures, six different creature types. Each one is also available separately if you only need one specific model. Current prices at 28/32mm:

  • White Geatwyrm: A coiled dragon in pale resin. The set's largest piece at £14.99. Needs a 75mm or larger base and makes a strong boss encounter miniature.
  • Iron Stalker: A construct-style mechanical creature with an angular, predatory silhouette that reads clearly across a table. £12.99 individually.
  • Gigant: A heavy-built giant, scaled for large-creature encounters. Works well as a dungeon obstacle or a frontline brute in a horde. £9.99.
  • Bavlorna Sporemother: A hag-type figure with a mushroom-and-spore aesthetic, low to the ground with unsettling proportions. £6.49.
  • Bullywug Warlord: Frog-folk boss, heavily armed and visibly in command. Good for swamp encounters or anywhere you need an amphibious faction leader. £6.29.
  • Asteria: A lightly armoured humanoid fighter who can fit a recurring villain, a mercenary, or a neutral figure the party might align with. £6.49.

The Full Set of all six comes to £36.99 at 28/32mm, or £39.99 in 35mm. Buying them individually at 28/32mm costs around £49.74, so the set saves roughly £13.

Are these fantasy monster miniatures good for D&D?

Yes, and the creature spread is the reason. A well-built encounter rarely needs six of the same creature type. It needs something big, something fast, something strange. This set covers all three, and the models are distinct enough that no two look like they come from the same faction.

The White Geatwyrm earns its place as a boss encounter piece. It is the kind of miniature players notice when you bring it out, which matters at the table. The Iron Stalker works across most campaign levels: medium-sized, well-proportioned, and the construct aesthetic fits artificer lore, an undead guardian, or a fey construct depending on your setting. The Bavlorna Sporemother and Bullywug Warlord pair naturally for anything running through swamp terrain or Feywild-adjacent arcs. Asteria is the most flexible figure in the set, since a humanoid-scale fighter can double as an NPC without much explanation.

October is a good time to build out this kind of creature roster before the winter campaign season starts. A varied set of monsters is worth having before you are mid-session reaching for whatever is painted. If you are running a dungeon crawl or a wilderness hexcrawl, six different creature types gives you a lot of room to vary threat and keep encounters feeling different from one another.

28/32mm or 35mm?

The 28/32mm scale (£36.99 for the set) matches the standard heroic-scale footprint used in most D&D 5e and Pathfinder 2e collections. The 35mm option (£39.99) gives more painting surface and suits anyone running a larger-scale collection, which is common among display painters and players who prefer more detail visible at arm's length.

Printed Obsession prints to order in grey resin at their UK facility. Models arrive cleaned and cured, ready to prime, base, and paint. Dispatch takes five to eight working days from order.

If you are putting together a broader collection and want to work out what you are actually missing, our D&D miniatures by class guide covers the creature and character types we stock and helps narrow down gaps in your collection. The Random Monster set is a strong anchor piece for monster variety, but it is one part of a wider build.
