Galaad Miniatures Tieflings set, seven unpainted resin dnd miniatures tiefling knights, paladin, archer, duelist and wizard

DnD Miniatures Tiefling: Galaad's Tieflings Set of Knights, Paladin and Wizard

Tieflings have been a favourite D&D player option for years, and if you've typed "dnd miniatures tiefling" into a search bar you'll know the options can be thin once you rule out the same few plastic sculpts. Galaad Miniatures' Tieflings release from June 2023 is one we come back to often: seven horned, devil-blooded characters that cover knights, a paladin, an archer, a duelist and a spellcaster, all printed to order in resin here in the UK.

It's a party in a box, more or less. Here's what you get, which classes each figure suits, and how to fit them into a campaign.

What's in Galaad's Tieflings set?

The Galaad Tieflings Full Set contains seven figures: an Archer, a Duelist, two Knights (Knight A and Knight B), a Paladin, the Seductress and a Wizard. You can buy the full set of seven at 28/32mm for £28.99, or step it up to 35mm or 40mm if your group plays at a chunkier heroic scale. Single figures start at £6.29 and also come in 54mm and 75mm, which is handy if you want one display piece for your own character.

The Seductress and the Wizard are also listed on their own (Seductress and Wizard, £6.49 each) if you only need one caster or face character.

Galaad is the work of French sculptor Quentin, who releases pre-supported RPG minis as monthly themed factions, and you can see the rest of the catalogue on the Galaad Miniatures MyMiniFactory page. We cover the studio in more depth in our Galaad Miniatures UK guide.

DnD miniatures tiefling players can actually use: matching figures to classes

A lot of tiefling minis lean hard into the warlock look. That's fine, but tieflings turn up in every class, and this set reflects that.

The two Knights and the Paladin are the obvious frontline picks. In armour, with horns and tails showing, they make convincing fighters or oath-sworn paladins, and the Paladin is a strong option if you've been looking for dnd miniatures paladin players who aren't another clean-cut human in shining plate. Fallen or redemption-arc paladins are a popular tiefling concept, and this one gives you a blank canvas to paint either way.

The Archer slots in as a ranger or a dex-based fighter. The Duelist reads well as a rogue, swashbuckler bard or a duelling fighter. The Wizard covers wizards, sorcerers and warlocks without needing a separate figure for each. The Seductress suits a charisma build, so a bard, sorcerer or warlock, or an NPC the party probably shouldn't trust.

If you also run fantasy knight miniatures in a wargame or skirmish warband, the Knights and Paladin double up nicely as a small infernal order, which is not a bad excuse to paint them in October.

More Galaad tieflings and fiendish extras

Galaad has put tieflings into other monthly releases too, so you can grow the group without the paint scheme clashing. The Tiefling Knight from the December Adventurer set and the Tiefling Bard from Festival Performers (both £6.49) come from the same sculptor, so they sit comfortably alongside the main set.

For a villain or a demon-touched rival party, Artisan Guild's Abyss Demons range includes Diabolica the Eternal and Ildamos Half Blood, both tagged as tieflings in our catalogue. We wrote about that whole range in DnD Demon Miniatures: The Abyss Demons Range.

Scale, bases and painting tips

At 28/32mm these sit happily next to most D&D minis, with a full-size humanoid measuring roughly 28mm to eye level. As Medium creatures they'd normally go on a 25mm base on a one-inch grid, which is the common convention rather than an official rule. Our D&D miniatures size guide goes into base sizes in more detail.

Each figure arrives unpainted in resin, already cleaned and cured, so a rinse in warm soapy water and a coat of primer is all you need before painting. Tiefling skin is where you get to have fun. Classic deep reds and purples work, but ash grey, teal or a pale blue-white stand out well against dark armour. Pick a single horn colour across the party and they'll read as a group on the table even with very different skin tones.

If you're still deciding who plays what, our guide to the best 3D-printed miniatures for every D&D character class pairs well with this set.

You can browse the full Galaad Miniatures collection for the rest of their monthly themes, or grab the Tieflings Full Set and paint your whole party in one go. If you're after something specific that isn't listed, get in touch and we'll see what we can print.
